"As Music Director of Denver’s full-time jazz station, KUVO Jazz, for the past 21 years, I have seen numerous young musicians blossom into outstanding musicians. One of those has been guitarist Alex Heffron whom I first became acquainted with in 2015 during KUVO’s 30th Anniversary when we initiated our “Thirty Under Thirty” showcase as Alex was one of those selected that we predicted a bright future for, he has not disappointed! I have seen mature into a versatile high caliber player with local bands, guesting with touring musicians and leading his own groups. We were all saddened with his departure to New York City while knowing he would take his place among the best in the capital of jazz."
